Senator Ali Ndume has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s embargo on foreign goods, calling it “a bold decision” that will boost indigenous businesses and employment. The presidential directive, announced after Monday’s FEC meeting, mandates MDAs to prioritise Nigerian goods and services.
Ndume said: “If implemented faithfully, it will shield our local producers… and reduce strain on our foreign reserves.” He urged the government to impose heavy taxes on foreign goods to further support local alternatives.
