Air Force One carrying Donald Trump was involved in a near-miss incident with a Spirit Airlines jet over Long Island.
Air Force One carrying Donald Trump narrowly avoided a collision with a Spirit Airlines passenger jet on Tuesday, September 16, over Long Island.
Reports said both aircraft were at similar altitude before an air traffic controller urgently ordered the Spirit pilots to change course. “Turn now!” the controller was heard shouting in a recording shared on social media. The planes ultimately remained several miles apart, preventing disaster.
The incident came as Trump arrived in London for his state visit. Metropolitan Police confirmed that more than 1,600 officers, alongside 500 reinforcements, will be deployed to manage protests expected from over 50 groups.
Demonstrations, organised by the Stop Trump Coalition, will move from Portland Place to Parliament Square, with Scotland Yard enforcing a 7pm deadline under the Public Order Act.
