The Netherlands will send Ukraine a $202 million military aid package, including advanced drone detection systems and medical evacuation vehicles, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced Tuesday.

The package contains 100 drone radar systems and 20 Ermine CASEVAC modular vehicles. “The package should be completed by the end of the year and will help Ukraine detect deadly Russian drones,” Brekelmans said.

Additionally, 80 million euros will support the international drone coalition developing drone technology for Ukraine. The Netherlands had earlier invested 20 million euros in the initiative.

Brekelmans emphasized that “drone production and development is the Netherlands’ No. 1 priority when it comes to Ukraine.” Recently, the Netherlands signed contracts with Ukrainian manufacturers to build 600,000 drones, worth about 500 million euros.

The Netherlands has contributed at least 10 billion euros to Ukraine’s defense since Russia’s 2022 invasion. The aid comes as NATO leaders meet in The Hague to discuss a proposed 5% defense spending target.
