In a statement on Tuesday, Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa confirmed that embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran are coordinating with affected citizens for their safe return.
Nigerians in conflict zones were advised to comply with local security measures and contact nearby missions for registration. The ministry praised diplomatic staff for their efforts and assured the public of its commitment to citizen safety, noting collaboration with international partners for a swift evacuation.
“The Federal Government is finalising arrangements for the emergency evacuation of stranded Nigerians in both countries,” the statement read. It urged adherence to security protocols and embassy directives.
Nigeria also reiterated calls for an immediate ceasefire, urging dialogue and civilian protection. “Nigeria stands firm in its support for peaceful conflict resolution,” the ministry added.
