Nigeria has unveiled its first batch of locally assembled “DG-103” rifles, with DICON–D7G confirming that about 1,000 units were produced within two months and fully certified for security operations.
The CEO, through a briefing by retired Maj.-Gen. Mainasara Masanawa, described the achievement as a major step in boosting the country’s self-reliance in arms production.
The DG-103, a licensed version of the AK-103, is complemented by ongoing production of drones and anti-drone systems, as the organisation targets “60 million rounds of ammunition annually.”
DICON–D7G also plans to acquire a military jetty in Lagos by February 2026 to expand production, build a shipyard, and enhance export capacity, marking what it says is only the beginning of wider efforts to fortify Nigeria’s defence ecosystem.
