Nigerian Army captures suspected arms dealer, rescues victim

Nigerian Army troops rescued a kidnap victim, arrested suspected arms dealers and informants, and disrupted terrorist camps in multiple states, including Niger, Kebbi, Plateau, Katsina, and Benue.

In the last 24 hours, Nigerian Army troops conducting operations under FANSAN YAMMA and Enduring Peace have successfully rescued a kidnap victim, apprehended suspected arms dealers and terrorist informants, and dismantled terrorist support networks across Niger, Kebbi, Plateau, Katsina, Nasarawa, and Benue states.

The operations included raids on camps linked to kidnappings, recovery of military uniforms, rifles, ammunition, financial evidence, and the arrest of herders destroying crops. As a source at Army Headquarters explained: “Troops recovered military uniforms, a helmet, boots, financial receipts totalling about ₦4 million and audio evidence relating to arms transactions.”

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, recently visited operational zones, urging troops to maintain discipline, alertness, and persistence in the fight against terrorism.
