Tinubu Lifts Rivers State Emergency Rule, Reinstates Fubara

President Bola Tinubu has lifted the emergency rule in Rivers State with effect from Wednesday midnight, directing suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara to resume office on Thursday, September 18.

He also ordered Deputy Governor Ngozi Nma Odu and state lawmakers to return to their duties.

The rule was imposed six months ago amid clashes between Fubara and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

NECO Blacklists Schools, Supervisors Over Exam Malpractice

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has sanctioned 38 schools across 13 states for whole-school cheating during the 2025 Internal SSCE. Registrar Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi also announced the blacklisting of nine supervisors over poor supervision.
