30 Traders Feared Dead in Sokoto Boat Mishap

At least 30 traders, including women, are feared dead after a boat accident on Sunday in Kojiyo village, Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The victims were travelling to the weekly Goronyo market when the boat, laden with passengers and goods, capsized around 1.30 p.m.


Emir of Zuru, Muhammadu Sani Sami, Dies at 81

The Emir of Zuru in Kebbi State, retired Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami (Gomo II), has died at the age of 81. The monarch passed away on Saturday in a London hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by four wives and seven children.
