Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured that peace has returned to Rivers State.

Speaking in an interview on Thursday, Wike said he had spoken with Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who is ready to return to the state following the end of the six-month emergency rule.

Oyo Police Arrest Cleric Over Suspected Human Flesh Possession

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a middle-aged Islamic cleric, identified as Alfa Basiru, for allegedly possessing items suspected to be human flesh.

Police spokesman CSP Adewale Osifeso confirmed the arrest on Thursday, saying the suspect was apprehended near the Ibadan Toll Gate along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.


NDLEA Commander in Cross River Found Dead in Hotel Room

Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Cross River State, Morrison Ogbonna, was found dead in his hotel room in Calabar on Thursday.

Sources said his officers discovered his body when they arrived to pick him up for a scheduled assignment.


Rivers Assembly Urges Fubara to Submit Commissioners’ List

The Rivers State House of Assembly has called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to forward commissioner nominees for screening in line with constitutional provisions.
