Jonathan Meets ADC Chairman Amid Election Speculations

As speculations heighten over his possible return to contest the 2027 presidential election, former President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday night visited the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The meeting followed hours after the coalition’s First National Caucus meeting in Abuja, where the ADC was adopted as the platform to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the next general election.


Opposition Coalition Settles for ADC, Drops ADA

The coalition of opposition parties aiming to unseat President Bola Tinubu has formally adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its platform, disassociating from the yet-to-be-registered All Democratic Alliance (ADA).

National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi said after a meeting in Abuja on Thursday that the decision was unanimously agreed upon by coalition leaders.


Kano Man Arrested For Allegedly Killing Grandparents Over Food

Police in Kano have arrested a 30-year-old man, Mutawakilu Ibrahim, for allegedly stabbing his grandparents to death following a dispute over food.

The incident occurred on Thursday, September 25, at Kofar Dawanau Quarters in Kano metropolis, according to Command spokesperson SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.


FRSC Boss Says Arming Personnel May Be Inevitable

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has suggested that arming road safety personnel may be the only solution to enforce traffic laws effectively.

Delta Police Arrest Kidnappers Who Shot Victim After N2m Ransom

Three suspected kidnappers have been arrested in Delta State after allegedly collecting N2 million ransom from their victim and still shooting him in the leg.

Police identified the suspects as Chukwuebuka Nka, 25, Uche Okechukwu, and Somto Chukwuma.

Authorities said the suspects turned violent when they discovered the victim had insufficient funds.


Tinubu Promotes Over 52,000 Paramilitary Personnel In Two Years

The Federal Government on Thursday announced that President Bola Tinubu has approved the promotion of more than 52,000 officers across four paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior.

Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, said the move ended decades of career stagnation and boosted morale in the services.
