FG Summons PENGASSAN, Dangote Refinery Over Labour Rift

The Federal Government has summoned the leadership of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and management of Dangote Refinery to an emergency meeting over their ongoing dispute.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment, in a statement on Sunday, also appealed to union members to suspend their nationwide strike directive, warning that industrial action could negatively affect the economy.

PENGASSAN had accused the refinery of sacking at least 800 workers after they joined the association, while the company described the action as a restructuring exercise.


FG Confirms 13 Dead in Zamfara Mine Collapse, Denies 100 Fatalities

The Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development has dismissed reports that over 100 people died in a gold mine pit collapse in Jabaka, Maru LGA of Zamfara State.

In a statement, Segun Tomori, media aide to Minister Dele Alake, confirmed 13 deaths, contrary to higher figures circulating in the media. He urged restraint in reporting to avoid unnecessary panic.


NDLEA Intercepts Drugs for Terrorists, Arrests Kingpins in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says its operatives intercepted major drug consignments destined for terrorists and bandits in Borno and Yobe states. The agency reported the arrest of suppliers and two drug kingpins in Lagos.

NDLEA said operatives seized 39,380 pills of tramadol and exol-5 hidden inside a Mercedes Benz GLK engine in Njimtilo, Borno, on September 27.


Nigeria Exports Petrol Worth N371.54bn in Q2 After Dangote Refinery Breakthrough

Nigeria exported petrol valued at N371.54 billion in the second quarter of 2025, marking the first shipment since the Dangote Refinery began operations.
