The decline was largely attributed to sell-offs in large stocks
Investors in the Nigerian Exchange Limited suffered an N81 billion loss on Wednesday as the stock market extended its bearish trend. Market capitalisation dipped by 0.12% to close at N66.496 trillion, while the All-Share Index fell by 130.33 points to settle at 105,800.85, driven by sell-offs in major stocks.
Despite the downturn, market breadth remained positive with 39 gainers outpacing 25 decliners. University Press and Vitafoam led the advancers, both recording 10% growth to close at N3.74 and N52.80 per share respectively, offering some respite in an otherwise sluggish trading session.
