Three Nigerian teenagers — Divine, Favour, and Bright, aged 17 to 19 — have been rescued from a sex trafficking ring in Ghana and safely returned to Nigeria, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has confirmed.
The victims, from Bayelsa and Ebonyi states, were lured with promises of lucrative jobs by women they called their “aunties”, but were forced into sex work.
They were received at NiDCOM’s Lagos office on Thursday and handed over to NAPTIP for profiling and reintegration.
NiDCOM Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said, “Human trafficking will persist if traffickers and their agents are not exposed and shamed.”
She thanked NIDO Ghana, the Nigerian Embassy, and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for their roles in the rescue.
