A 60-year-old Nigerian mother, Nkiru Chima, was brutally stabbed in her UK home—with police linking her death to a young man’s fatal incident on train tracks hours earlier. No arrests have been made

A 60-year-old Nigerian woman, Nkiru Chima, has been stabbed to death in her apartment in Romford, East London, with UK police linking her killing to the death of a 20-year-old man found on nearby train tracks the same evening.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they responded to a welfare concern call at Bushy Close, RM1, around 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, where they discovered Chima’s body with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command stated that Chima’s death is connected to the fatal incident involving a young man at Romford Station earlier that night.

“We are confident Nkiru’s tragic death is linked to the 20-year-old male’s death on the railway tracks. He was known to her, and British Transport Police are investigating,” Yorke said.

Authorities have not yet made any arrests but urged witnesses to come forward. “Our thoughts remain with Nkiru’s family. We encourage anyone with information to contact us,” Yorke added.

Chima’s family is receiving specialist support as investigations continue.
