Some mocked Mr Tinubu, calling him a ‘remote worker’, ‘remote president,’ and ‘diaspora president’, practising ‘virtual governance
President Bola Tinubu faces mounting criticism for governing Nigeria remotely from Europe amid escalating violence at home. While abroad, Tinubu condemned attacks in Plateau State that claimed nearly 100 lives and assured citizens of uninterrupted governance.
However, Nigerians on social media expressed outrage, dubbing him a “remote president” and questioning his leadership. One user remarked, “Tinubu’s out here chilling in London, saying he’s running Nigeria like it’s a Zoom call, while Boko Haram’s causing chaos back home—150 people dead.”
Another stated, “It is utterly perplexing that President Bola Tinubu continues to direct the affairs of state from Europe for nearly two weeks.”
