Nigeria’s non-oil exports in the first half of 2025 were valued at $3.225 billion, a 19.59% rise from the same period in 2024, according to the NEPC.
The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) says the country’s non-oil exports reached $3.225 billion in the first half of 2025, marking a 19.59 per cent rise from $2.696 billion in the same period of 2024.
Director-General Nonye Ayeni told reporters in Abuja on Sunday that volumes also climbed to 4.04 million metric tonnes from 3.83 million last year. She said 236 different products were exported, up 16.83 per cent from 2024.
“Cocoa beans topped the list with 34.88 per cent of total export value, followed by urea/fertiliser with 17.65 per cent,” Ayeni said. She credited the African Continental Free Trade Area for expanding market access and easing tariffs.
Ayeni noted a gradual shift from raw agricultural goods to semi-manufactured products, boosting earnings. She said the council will continue working with stakeholders to sustain growth, in line with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
