The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast a mix of sunshine and thunderstorms across Nigeria from Saturday through Monday.

In its Friday bulletin from Abuja, NiMet predicted sunny skies with patches of cloud in the North, alongside chances of thunderstorms in Taraba, Adamawa, and other states.

North-central states such as the FCT, Niger, and Benue are expected to experience isolated thunderstorms and rain by afternoon. Southern states, including Lagos, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom, are forecast to see cloudy conditions with rain showers both in the morning and later in the day.

By Sunday and Monday, thunderstorms are expected to spread to parts of Borno, Kano, and Gombe, with cloudy skies and rains likely in other regions. NiMet cautioned the public to secure loose items as strong winds may accompany storms.

“Stay away from tall trees… avoid driving under heavy rainfall,” NiMet advised. It also urged airline operators to obtain location-specific forecasts for flight planning and encouraged the public to stay updated via [www.nimet.gov.ng](https://www.nimet.gov.ng).
