He was apprehended by Immigration officers at a checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme border while attempting to flee Nigeria on a motorcycle.
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested Obi Levi Obieze, also known as Levi Obu Onyeka, a wanted suspect linked to ritual killings and kidnapping in Enugu State.
Obieze, a native doctor from Umuojor village in Isiagu Community, was apprehended by Immigration officers at the Gbaji checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme border while attempting to flee Nigeria on a motorcycle, the NIS confirmed Thursday.
“He is currently in custody and his identity has been confirmed through a National Identity Management Commission enrollment slip found in his possession. During the initial questioning, he admitted to the alleged crimes,” NIS spokesperson ACI AS Akinlabi said.
Obieze had been declared wanted by the Enugu State Police after a 13-year-old girl was abducted and later rescued from a shrine linked to him.
The NIS is working closely with the Nigeria Police Force for the suspect’s handover and further investigation, reaffirming its commitment to securing national borders.
