The Nigeria Labour Congress has threatened a nationwide strike if the Federal Government fails to address issues over pension and NSITF funds within seven days.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has given the Federal Government a seven-day ultimatum to refund allegedly diverted workers’ funds from the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and appoint a Governing Board for the National Pension Commission (PENCOM).
In a communiqué issued after its Central Working Committee meeting on Wednesday in Abuja, NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, warned that failure to meet the demands would trigger a nationwide strike. The meeting reviewed pressing labour issues affecting Nigerian workers and the trade union movement.
