“This is not merely a letter of a persecuted man; it is a bill of indictment against a segment of the Nigerian judiciary,” Kanu writes.
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has written to the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), urging it to include his case in the agenda of the ongoing 2025 Annual General Conference in Enugu State.
In the letter dated August 18 and received by the NBA on August 22, Kanu said, “This is not merely a letter of a persecuted man; it is a bill of indictment against a segment of the Nigerian judiciary.”
He accused the courts of “judicial lynching” and violating constitutional rights, citing international laws and rulings in his favour.
Kanu urged the NBA to investigate alleged infractions, hold errant judges accountable, and restore public trust. “Silence now would make the NBA complicit in the erosion of Nigeria’s legal foundations,” he warned.
The IPOB leader wants his case deliberated to ensure no Nigerian faces abduction or trial under repealed laws.
