Norwich City has appointed Jack Wilshere as caretaker manager following the departure of head coach Dean Thorup. The club announced the decision after parting ways with Thorup, who had been in charge for just a few months.

In a statement, Norwich confirmed that Wilshere, a former player for the club, would take charge on an interim basis. The club is seeking an immediate change in fortunes after struggling under Thorup’s leadership. Wilshere, who has no prior managerial experience at senior club level, will be tasked with turning around Norwich’s performances in the league.

“I am excited for the opportunity to lead the team,” Wilshere said. “It’s a massive challenge, but I’m looking forward to it.”

The club has not specified how long Wilshere will remain in charge, but he will oversee the team’s upcoming fixtures.
