FIJ found that the NPHCDA paid over N2.3bn to more than 40 firms in December 2024 without stating what the payments were for.
Fresh findings have revealed that the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) disbursed over N2.3 billion in December 2024 without stating what the payments were for. According to data from BudgIT’s Govspend.ng, all payments listed by the NPHCDA during the period carried “None” under the description column. FIJ discovered that between December 5 and 30, the agency made more than 60 payments to around 40 private firms and consultants, including Seven West Contractors Ltd, Sensamed Health Logistics Ltd, and Pecabry Constructions Ltd.
The Federal Inland Revenue Service also received 18 payments totalling N132.9 million. “While such payments might represent genuine contracts, the absence of descriptions prevents any public verification of the services rendered,” the report noted. The Public Procurement Act 2007 mandates transparency and detailed documentation of government spending, raising concerns about the agency’s compliance.
