A U.S. nurse claims a pregnant woman overdosed on Tylenol in an attempt to mock Donald Trump’s warning about the drug, leaving her critically ill on a ventilator, though the story remains unverified.
Nicole Sirotek, founder of American Frontline Nurses, has claimed that a pregnant woman is on life support after overdosing on Tylenol in a bid to “prove Donald Trump wrong.”
Sirotek said she received a frantic call at 4 a.m. from the woman’s husband, who reported that his wife—estimated to be 23 to 25 weeks pregnant—was in an intensive care unit on a ventilator after ingesting large quantities of Tylenol. “His pregnant wife is now on a ventilator dying of liver failure trying to ‘prove’ that Tylenol doesn’t cause autism since this is trending on TikTok,” she posted on X.
The case follows remarks by President Trump earlier in the week that acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, could increase the risk of autism when used during pregnancy. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. added that the drug is also linked to ADHD and liver toxicity in children, announcing that the FDA would begin updating safety labels.
Sirotek alleged that online videos mocking the warning had spurred reckless challenges. “She’s going to die. She’s not going to come off that ventilator,” she said in a follow-up video.
The Gateway Pundit noted it could not independently verify Sirotek’s claims. Medical experts, however, confirm that acetaminophen overdose can lead to acute liver failure and death. The FDA has long cautioned against excessive use, requiring stricter labeling on products containing the drug.
