Former nurse Alexis Von Yates, 35, received a two-year prison sentence after pleading no contest to lewd and lascivious battery of her 15-year-old stepson.
The plea deal, a significant reduction from the original sexual battery charge, was supported by the victim’s family to prevent the teenager from testifying and disrupting his mental health treatment. The judge acknowledged the agreement was a “significant downward departure” from guidelines.
The case began in July 2024 when the victim’s father, Frank, allegedly discovered the abuse, shouting, “What the f* is going on here?”** and calling his wife a “child predator.” According to affidavits, Von Yates had told the teen she “wished” he was 18.
Von Yates’ sentence also includes 10 years of sex offender probation, community service, and fines. Her nursing license was revoked after her arrest. A final sentencing hearing is set for September.
