Eisen, who also served as special counsel during Trump’s first impeachment, said the FOIA filing aims to “find the truth” and expose what top Trump appointees knew.
WASHINGTON — Prominent Trump critic and former Obama ethics chief Norm Eisen has filed a sweeping Freedom of Information Act request seeking all Jeffrey Epstein-related files that mention former President Donald Trump.
Eisen, who also served as special counsel during Trump’s first impeachment, said the FOIA filing aims to “find the truth” and expose what top Trump appointees knew.
“We filed FOIAs to find the truth, because the Epstein files are real, & so is the Trump regime’s threat to democracy,” Eisen posted on X.
Filed through his Democracy Defenders Fund, the request targets records held by the DOJ and FBI, including communications involving Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel.
Eisen is demanding clarity on what government officials knew and when.
“The public needs to know what these files say about the most powerful man in the world,” Eisen wrote on Substack.
The DOJ has declined comment, while Trump and Bondi have denied any wrongdoing or insider briefings.
