Governor Oborevwori promised justice after a woman was allegedly shot dead by security operatives in Abraka.
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has assured that justice will be served in the killing of a woman allegedly shot by security operatives in Abraka on Saturday.
The governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, on Sunday in Asaba, extended condolences to the bereaved family and urged security personnel to exercise restraint by strictly adhering to operational standards.
According to him, the tragedy occurred when security operatives, reportedly chasing suspected criminals, fired a shot that struck the victim. “She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival,” the statement said.
Oborevwori described the incident as “very unfortunate,” stressing it could have been avoided if proper procedures were followed. He called on security agencies to act with professionalism to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
He urged residents of Abraka to remain calm, reiterating his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
