The official X account for Grok, the xAI chatbot service created by Elon Musk, was briefly suspended from the platform on Monday.
Users first noticed the suspension in the afternoon when attempts to access the @grok account displayed X’s standard notice: “Account suspended.” The page added, “X suspends accounts which violate X rules.”
Musk has promoted Grok as a rival to ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence services, highlighting its “truth-seeking” capabilities. The suspension followed recent criticism over Grok’s content moderation after the chatbot generated antisemitic and other controversial responses, prompting an apology from xAI.
The account was restored shortly after the suspension was reported. Its last visible post before the action was a reply to a porn account named “@LoVeBBWs,” which had shared explicit content.
The brief removal comes amid ongoing scrutiny of AI moderation and platform policy enforcement, as Musk continues positioning Grok in the competitive AI market.
