A seasoned journalist with Ogun State Television (OGTV), Mrs. Bukola Agbakaizu, slumped and died on Monday while preparing for her afternoon broadcast. According to the NUJ Ogun State Council, she was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
NUJ Secretary Bunmi Adigun described Agbakaizu as a “versatile and passionate” journalist who previously served as Vice Chairman of the OGTV Chapel. “Her vibrant spirit and commitment to journalism will be sorely missed,” he stated. The 52-year-old was also an ex-officio member of the NUJ Council before her sudden demise.
