“The victims—young, promising undergraduates—were senselessly raped and murdered in cold blood,” said the police chief.
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a landlord and two others over the kidnapping and murder of two students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko.
Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal identified the victims as Abah John Friday, 25, and Okah Andrel Eloho, 19.
According to Lawal, the landlord, Oladele Femi, orchestrated the crime with accomplices Ojo Michael and one Kola (still at large). A petition had been filed after the victims went missing on June 20, 2025.
Forensic tracking led police to Lagos, where Friday’s iPhone was found with Abdul Mubarak. This led to the arrest of Michael in Ekiti, who confessed to the abduction, rape, and murder.
Lawal said N800,000 was transferred from Friday’s account during captivity. Ms Eloho’s body was found near Ode-Ekiti; Friday’s remains are still missing.
“This case stands as a tragic reminder of the brutality of premeditated crimes and the devastating consequences of betrayal and greed,” Lawal said.
