Alternative routes include Oba Adeyemi Oyekan Avenue via Glover, Lugard, or Cameron roads.
The Lagos State Government will divert traffic around Osborne Road, Ikoyi, from Friday, Aug. 15, to Sunday, Aug. 17, for drainage connection works.
Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said in a Tuesday statement that the project will link newly constructed drains on Modupe Alakija Crescent to the underground channel beneath Osborne Road’s median.
The works, scheduled from 10 p.m. Friday to midnight Sunday, require cutting a section of Osborne Road before Foreshore Towers.
A counterflow will be implemented along Osborne/Alfred Rewane Road over a 100-metre stretch. Motorists inbound Osborne from Alfred Rewane will use a contraflow lane, while those heading the opposite way will be restricted to one lane.
Alternative routes include Oba Adeyemi Oyekan Avenue via Glover, Lugard, or Cameron roads.
Osiyemi said the road would reopen fully on Monday, Aug. 18, and LASTMA would manage traffic to minimise inconvenience.
