Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray defeated Trabzonspor 3-0 to win the 2024/25 Turkish Cup on Wednesday at the Gaziantep Stadium.
Baris Yilmiz opened the scoring in the fifth minute, converting a chance created from an Osimhen-led attack. After the break, Osimhen netted Galatasaray’s second, latching onto a through ball from Yunus Akgun before outmuscling a defender and firing into the bottom corner.
The Nigerian striker completed his brace in the 63rd minute, tapping in from a swift counterattack.
Osimhen now has 35 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray — including 24 in the Super Lig, three in the Europa League, and five in the Turkish Cup.
The victory marks Galatasaray’s 19th Turkish Cup title and Osimhen’s first trophy with the club.
Galatasaray currently sit atop the Super Lig table, eight points clear of second-placed Fenerbahce, with five games remaining in the season.
