Osimhen set to become Manchester United’s most expensive signing

“Victor will move; he may wear the red colour in England,” a source close to the striker said.

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen is on the verge of a sensational move to Manchester United in what could become the club’s most expensive transfer ever. Reports indicate that the Napoli striker has agreed to personal terms with the Red Devils, including a £660,000-per-week wage before tax.

While no official announcement has been made, talks between Osimhen, Napoli, and United are said to be in advanced stages.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed that Osimhen will leave this summer. “Victor will move; he may wear the red colour in England,” a source close to the striker said.

Osimhen’s potential transfer fee is rumoured to be between €30–€35 million, although Napoli may still push for a higher sum, given the €75 million release clause.

United had also shown interest in Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon, but the Swedish striker reportedly turned down their approach. Former United defender Rio Ferdinand backed Osimhen, saying, “I’d probably pick Osimhen because of that experience… he’s a top-class number nine.”

Osimhen, who was on loan at Galatasaray last season, netted 37 goals and led them to the Turkish league title, boosting his reputation ahead of the summer transfer window that opens today.
