Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been shortlisted for the 2025 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) released the 10-player list on Wednesday, which also includes Mohamed Salah of Egypt, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi and Oussama Lamlioui, and Guinea’s Seyrou Guirassy. Osimhen, who won the award in 2023, was outstanding for Galatasaray last season, scoring 26 league goals to guide the club to the Turkish Super Lig title. His performances also led Galatasaray to secure his permanent transfer from Napoli for a record €75 million.
Stanley Nwabali is nominated for the Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year, while Daniel Bameyi is listed among the Men’s Young Player of the Year contenders.
Last week, Super Falcons stars Rasheedat Ajibade and Esther Okoronkwo were shortlisted for the women’s category.
