Tensions between India and Pakistan have intensified following a series of military actions, including airstrikes and drone attacks, in the disputed Kashmir region. India’s Operation Sindoor targeted nine sites alleged to be militant camps, resulting in 31 civilian deaths, according to Pakistani officials. In response, Pakistan claimed to have downed five Indian jets and engaged in artillery exchanges along the Line of Control.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the Indian strikes as “cowardly acts of war” and vowed that India must “suffer the consequences.” The Pakistani military reported shooting down 25 Indian drones, with one incident near Lahore injuring four soldiers.

Global leaders, including those from the U.S., U.K., and China, have urged both nations to exercise restraint amid fears of a potential nuclear conflict. Experts warn that a full-scale nuclear war could result in up to 125 million deaths and catastrophic global consequences.
