“We woke up to see their lifeless bodies on the road this morning… One of them is Baba Oja.We still saw him yesterday controlling traffic.”
Residents of Idimu in Lagos State were gripped by panic on Sunday following the discovery of two dead bodies, one of which was beheaded, along Oladun Road.
PUNCH Metro learnt the gruesome incident occurred late Saturday, though the corpses were only found Sunday morning. One of the victims was identified by residents as “Baba Oja,” a popular figure who often mingled with boys near the Council bus stop.
“We woke up to see their lifeless bodies on the road this morning,” said Lanre Ajao. “One of them is Baba Oja… We still saw him yesterday controlling traffic.”
Another resident, Jamiu Raji, linked the killings to cult violence. “It is related to a cult attack because of the way the two of them were killed,” he noted.
The bodies remained unattended for nearly 10 hours before police arrived. A resident also alleged that families were forced to pay before retrieving the bodies.
Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin was unreachable at press time.
