The APC South-South zone has issued a one-week ultimatum to social media influencer VeryDarkMan to apologize to Senate President Godswill Akpabio for criticizing his attendance at Pope Francis’ funeral, calling the remarks “slanderous.”
ABUJA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) South-South zone has demanded an apology from social media personality Martins Vincent Otse (aka VeryDarkMan) for his criticism of Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s Vatican trip.
In a Sunday statement, Zonal Organizing Secretary Blessing Agbomhere condemned VeryDarkMan’s viral video calling Akpabio’s participation in Pope Francis’ funeral “shameful,” suggesting he should have visited violence-hit states instead.
“VeryDarkMan is becoming notorious for blackmail and slander while pretending to be a social crusader,” Agbomhere stated. “The unwarranted attack on Nigeria’s number three citizen, who was duly nominated by the President for this assignment, is unacceptable.”
The APC official issued a 7-day ultimatum for a public apology, warning against further “disparagement” of Akpabio or the Tinubu administration.
Defending Akpabio’s selection, Agbomhere noted: “As a devout Catholic with unblemished character, he was the perfect representative for Nigeria at this event.”
