“The AC is not working at all. And, as usual, your TV screens are also not working, neither is this button for calling the cabin crew.”
A disturbing video has surfaced showing reported power failures aboard an Air India flight just hours before the same aircraft crashed, killing over 200 people. The footage, shared by passenger Akash Vatsa, was taken on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s penultimate journey from Delhi to Ahmedabad. In the video, Vatsa highlights issues including non-functional air conditioning, broken seat-back screens, and an inoperative call button.
“I was in the same damn flight two hours before it took off from Ahmedabad,” Vatsa posted on X. “The AC is not working at all. And, as usual, your TV screens are also not working, neither is this button for calling the cabin crew.”
He said he was “sweating like hell” and planned to share the video with Air India.
The plane later crashed after taking off for London’s Gatwick Airport. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether these faults contributed to the disaster.
