Adeboye said God instructed him to reach out to the chief with a message of love and repentance.
General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has shared a striking story about an ailing traditional ruler who repeatedly rejected salvation despite divine warnings.
Speaking during a recent service, Adeboye said God instructed him while at the University of Lagos to write a letter to the chief, urging him to repent.
“I quickly wrote it… God said, ‘Tell him I love him… if he will surrender his life to me, I will forgive everything,’” Adeboye narrated.
The pastor said he visited the chief regularly for three years, but the monarch kept postponing his decision.
“Suddenly he had a massive stroke… I begged God to restore him one more time. In less than an hour, he was completely whole again. I said, ‘Chief, will you give your life to Christ now?’ He said he would think about it. Shortly after that, he died,” Adeboye said.
