Paystack co-founder Ezra Olubi is facing nationwide backlash after resurfaced tweets featuring bestiality and paedophilia jokes went viral.

Paystack co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, has come under intense national criticism following the resurfacing of disturbing tweets referencing bestiality, paedophilia, and claims of transmitting infectious diseases, according to a report from Naija News.

The controversial posts, allegedly published between 2010 and 2017 on Mr Olubi’s verified handle, @0x, included remarks about sexual activity with animals and inappropriate jokes about minors.

One screenshot from 2012 showed Mr Olubi describing himself as a “cat lover” while making explicit comments about intercourse with cats, while another tweet from 2014 falsely claimed that “sex with a minor cures HIV.”

The outrage escalated early Wednesday after a former partner publicly accused the tech executive of emotional abuse, prompting users on 𝕏 to revisit his archived posts.

Within hours, #EzraOlubi and related tags dominated the platform, accumulating more than 180,000 posts.

Many Nigerians demanded a police investigation, citing provisions of the Criminal Code that prescribe up to 14 years imprisonment for bestiality and stringent penalties for offences involving minors.

Mr Olubi, who received the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) honour in 2022, is now the subject of an online petition seeking revocation of the award.

As of press time, neither Paystack nor Stripe had issued a statement.

Mr Olubi’s 𝕏 account was deactivated on Wednesday, but multiple archives—including a GitHub repository titled “Ezra Olubi Evidence Archive”—continue circulating the screenshots.
