Forum mocks defectors, calls ADC a “one-chance vehicle”.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum says the party became stronger after key members defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement signed by its Director General, Emmanuel Agbo, the Forum accused the defectors of launching “irresponsible verbal attacks” after joining what it called a “one-chance vehicle.”
“Since their exit, the PDP has become much more formidable and focused, with clear determination to have our eyes on the ball,” the statement read. It likened the defectors to the Biblical prodigal son but said the party’s doors remain open to “repentant” members who show remorse.
The Forum also blamed the ADC for being a “huge clog to the wheel of national unity and harmony.”
Among those who left PDP for ADC are former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Senate President David Mark, and former lawmaker Dino Melaye.
The statement added that insecurity topped discussions at the governors’ recent meeting.
