A female student of Lagos State University (LASU) has been reportedly arrested by armed men believed to be police officers, following her public accusations against her landlord for sexual harassment and death threats. A video shared by Facebook user Obi Franklin shows the student being forcefully taken into a vehicle by men in police uniforms, one visibly armed with a rifle. Witnesses say the men claimed they were from the Zone 2 police command, but the student’s current location remains unknown.

Franklin alerted the public via social media, tagging human rights organisations and student groups. “THE LASU STUDENT THAT HAD A CASE WITH HER LANDLORD TREATS AND OPPRESSION HAS BEEN ARRESTED FORCEFULLY BY MEN DRESSED AS SECURITY OFFICERS…,” he wrote.

Previously, the student had posted a video accusing her landlord of threatening to kill her after she rejected his sexual advances. The man allegedly said, “You are going to die…,” and mentioned ₦500,000 to “settle” the issue. Activist VeryDarkMan also raised concerns about the landlord’s sachet water factory and called for NAFDAC intervention.
