Tension engulfed the Onigbara River community in Ondo State’s Odigbo LGA after Daniel, son of a local police officer known as “Awilo,” allegedly killed his brother, Emmanuel, during a heated argument. The altercation escalated swiftly, resulting in Emmanuel’s death. The cause of the dispute remains unclear. A resident told NAN, “We still don’t understand what exactly happened between them. It’s shocking that a quarrel could end like this.”

Ondo State Police spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident and said it had been escalated for investigation. He stated that the Commissioner of Police ordered the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Akure.

Separately, police arrested Augustina Mowari in Okitipupa for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, to death during a dispute over suspected infidelity. “The suspect has been arrested, and the command has commenced a full investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Ayanlade said.
