The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) accused him of obstructing the safe operation of a commercial aircraft at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
The NCAA imposed a six-month flight ban on KWAM 1 and suspended the aircraft’s pilot and co-pilot pending review. In its petition, the agency said the singer’s conduct breached the 2023 Civil Aviation Regulations and endangered passengers and crew.

KWAM 1 has apologised, calling his actions “regrettable.” The case has sparked debate over alleged double standards, with critics comparing it to the swift detention of Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson.
The NCAA says sanctions will remain until both internal and police investigations conclude.
