Police rescue kidnap victims, recover ₦11.3m ransom in Enugu, Ogun raids

On July 15, sisters Juliet and Nancy Chukwu were arrested while sharing a ₦10m ransom after kidnapping their own relative.

Police operatives in Enugu and Ogun States have rescued four kidnap victims, killed three suspected kidnappers, and recovered over ₦11.3 million in ransom cash, arms, and other incriminating items in intelligence-led operations.

Force PRO ACP Muyiwa Adejobi disclosed this Sunday, hailing the efforts as proof of the police’s evolving crime-fighting strategy.

On July 16, officers in Enugu rescued a victim in Nsukka LGA after a gun battle. One suspect was killed, and an AK-47 rifle was recovered. On July 15, sisters Juliet and Nancy Chukwu were arrested while sharing a ₦10m ransom after kidnapping their own relative.

In Ogun, three kidnap victims were rescued on July 19 near Ajebo, after tactical teams stormed a hideout along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, neutralising two suspects.

Recovered items included ₦1.23m cash, weapons, mobile phones, and tools used for confinement.

“The Nigeria Police Force remains fully committed to dismantling criminal syndicates,” Adejobi said.
