“The killing of innocent people in Borno, Benue and Plateau States must cease,” Mr Tinubu said, declaring, “Enough is enough,” on widespread killings across the country under his watch.

President Bola Tinubu has ordered security agencies to end the ongoing violence in Plateau, Benue, Borno, and Kwara states.

This follows weeks of deadly attacks that left over 100 dead in Plateau and over 50 in Benue, with Boko Haram resuming assaults in Borno.

Speaking after a meeting with security chiefs at the State House, Tinubu declared, “Enough is enough,” according to his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga. National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu said, “Mr President is insisting that we work harder to restore security,” adding that they had visited the affected states to assess the situation.

Meanwhile, opposition leaders Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi criticized Tinubu’s absence from Nigeria during the crisis. Atiku stated, “Nigerians are dying. The president is nowhere to be found.” In his Easter homily, Bishop Matthew Kukah lamented, “Nigeria is reaching a breaking point… The nation is gradually becoming a huge national morgue.”
