Prince Harry reunites with King Charles III in London after months of estrangement

Prince Harry met King Charles III at Clarence House on Wednesday for their first reunion since February 2024, with the Duke of Sussex expressing hope for “reconciliation” despite their strained relationship.

Prince Harry arrived at Clarence House in London on Wednesday to meet his father, King Charles III, in what British media described as their first meeting since February 2024.

The Duke of Sussex, in the UK since Monday for a series of engagements, was seen entering the royal residence in a black car just over an hour after the king returned from Scotland. The encounter has fueled speculation about a long-awaited reconciliation between the estranged father and son.

Harry, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to California, last saw his father when he flew to Britain following Charles’s cancer diagnosis in early 2024. In May, Harry admitted they were not on speaking terms, citing legal battles in the UK and his public criticisms of the royal family. Still, he expressed hope for “reconciliation” as he said he did “not know how much longer my father has.”

During his visit, Harry also paid respects at Queen Elizabeth II’s grave and attended charity events. Reports earlier this summer of behind-the-scenes discussions between palace aides and Harry’s team had already hinted at the possibility of a reunion.
