Sources tell BBC Sport the deal is progressing well.

Real Madrid are close to signing Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen after agreeing to trigger his £50 million release clause. The 20-year-old Spain international, who grew up in Marbella, is finalising personal terms despite interest from Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle. Madrid will pay the fee in three instalments, with Juventus and Malaga receiving 10% and 5% respectively. Huijsen, who joined Bournemouth from Juventus for £12.6m last summer, has made 34 appearances and scored three goals this season.

Sources tell BBC Sport the deal is “progressing well,” and Real aim to complete the move before next month’s Club World Cup in the U.S. Incoming manager Xabi Alonso is reportedly “pushing for Huijsen’s signing” as part of a youth-driven defensive rebuild.
