A global survey found doggy style is the most favoured sex position, with missionary and cowgirl following closely.
A new global survey has revealed doggy style as the world’s most popular sex position, with 35.1 per cent of respondents naming it their favourite. Conducted by the Bedbible Research Centre, the study found missionary in second place with 22.5 per cent, while cowgirl ranked third with 19.4 per cent.
Other positions such as 69 and holding legs up (4.3 per cent each), spooning (4.1 per cent), and reverse cowgirl (3.9 per cent) also featured. Oral sex (3.2 per cent), anal sex (2.1 per cent), and tabletop (1.2 per cent) rounded out the list.
Sexologist Dr Emily Hart said doggy style’s popularity lies in its “versatility, intensity and cultural visibility,” noting its ability to balance excitement with intimacy. Experts add that missionary remains favoured for its closeness, while cowgirl’s rise reflects shifting dynamics in modern relationships.
The report aligns with findings from the Kinsey Institute, showing couples increasingly value openness, communication and experimentation.
