Rep. Thomas Massie claimed the FBI has files naming at least 20 Epstein-linked figures, as former U.S. attorney Alex Acosta faces renewed scrutiny over his 2008 plea deal.

WASHINGTON — A Republican lawmaker on Wednesday alleged that the FBI has evidence identifying at least 20 high-profile figures linked to Jeffrey Epstein, intensifying calls for transparency ahead of key congressional testimony.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) told the House Judiciary Committee that “witness statements and FBI files” contain names of a Hollywood producer, a royal, a music executive, a prominent banker, a government official, a former politician, and at least six billionaires. “We know these people exist in the FBI files, the files that you control,” Massie said.

FBI Director Kash Patel, under two days of questioning, reiterated there is no official “client list,” adding, “any investigations that arise from any credible investigation will be brought.”

Patel described former Miami U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta’s 2008 non-prosecution deal with Epstein as the case’s “Original Sin.”

Acosta, who later became U.S. labor secretary, is set to testify Friday before the House Oversight Committee. His controversial plea deal gave Epstein and unnamed associates immunity, a decision the Justice Department later deemed “poor judgment.”
