The National Association of Resident Doctors will embark on a five-day nationwide warning strike from September 12 to demand better working conditions and pay.
The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has declared a five-day nationwide warning strike beginning Friday, September 12, 2025, to press home long-standing demands for improved welfare and working conditions.
This was contained in a statement issued Thursday by Agbor Affiong, General Secretary of the Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Capital Territory Administration.
“Arising from the NARD E-NEC meeting held on Wednesday, the 10th of September, 2025, which extended into the early hours of Thursday, the 11th of September, 2025, the NEC members unanimously resolved to embark on a five-day warning strike. The strike will commence at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, 12th September 2025, and will end on Tuesday, 16th September 2025,” the statement read.
All NARD centres have been directed to notify their hospital managements and sustain pressure for their collective demands.
Earlier, NARD President Osundara Zenith told DAILY POST the strike aims to protest poor remuneration, harsh working conditions, power shortages and downgrading of medical certificates.
Resident doctors in the FCT are already observing a separate seven-day warning strike that began Monday.
